Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album, was an ode to the classic sextet structure and a more consistent, stronger effort with a harder edge. The edgier sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the development of the group. The drummer Bobby Kimball's increasing ability to play was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature. Keyboardist David Paich's work also was more refined, sharper and less cloned on previous recordings.

After touring to promote their album, the group recorded the band's Amsterdam live concert that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between.
