WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item upgrader kit by +3. A random substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for the latter because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item upgrades used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the gear being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon or armor. button, which displays an item's preview at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Crests

Players can earn crests through completing content at the appropriate level. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This is to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters, instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests with care, since they only have one use. It is best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The account-wide discount is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
