World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE damage.

For example an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor in order to provide them with a boost in stats or an extra effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item upgrader mod's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of that equipment using less Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

The player can get a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will appear in the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear, even in the event that they don't know what can be improved upon an update.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly, and there is a significant chance that the item could be obsolete or even break when it fails. A failed upgrade will ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the possibility of failure, and some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible to level 15.

It is commonplace to see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is a great method to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and give an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most popular. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt by using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a statistic by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

The use of a Glyph can boost all nodes that are connected to it, and it is recommended to position your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximize the impact. For instance an Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes, too.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is also known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item, and when enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an individual player upgrades a piece of equipment, the base item will be replaced by an item that is new. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This could be a drawback, as the item can become more expensive even if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do so. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, however it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can waste a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player is repeatedly in or exits the water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the max roll by an increment of 10. This item can be extremely valuable in PvP as the Best item upgrade version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by presenting the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an item, it is given the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you exceed the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to revert to its original state, requiring the player to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will be deducted any gained bonuses such as crit chance and attack damage, as well as any other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or speed of reload). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied before any damage to attack increases. Slots is a new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade item an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for example, a common equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade item.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For instance they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. The player will still need to bring every piece of equipment they wish to upgrade to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each equipment upgrade requires different amounts of the ingredients needed to upgrade, in addition to the costs listed above.
