WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item upgrader mod will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current item level of the item being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be bought by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with an button, which will display an image of the item when it is upgraded in the event that the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or crests used.
