WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item level upgrade will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item but they will always be cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from item upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade items can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display the item's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and the current level of the item level upgrade, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Upgraders for items can be found in a variety of locations, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrades upgrader at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs that can assist with upgrades are available only through a variety of methods. This is both a positive and a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading other items to that same item level will cost less even if they are part of another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required to upgrade is reduced and the discount is available across all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

Players have several options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item upgrader kit level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests are only able to be used on gear of a specific rank, and that each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated requires as many as 20 crests depending on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in any difficulty to earn lower-level gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult however, the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. When a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level for all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. It's Best item upgrade to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear that you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
