Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The statistics of an item are improved through upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment boosts the stat linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an indicator of the level of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases according to their rarity and level.

Choose the item from your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen. It will show the expected stats following the upgrade. If you don't have enough of either, the Upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.

The upper-right corner shows the amount of upgrade components needed for the specific item. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the upgrade level and rarity, but can be reduced using various ways, such as purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them with other players.

Most weapons can be improved by a prefix like a rune or an insignia, and others can be improved by adding an suffix. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs can be a powerful instrument for communicating visual information. They move to grab the attention of the viewer and entice curiosity. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.

Each glyph has a set of values that it can enhance a stat according to the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This isn't the actual amount at which glyphs can improve the stat, but rather the maximum amount it can increase a stat. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and quality of the item that you are admiring.

Most upgrade components inserted into items are not able to be replaced or salvaged without removing the gear in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. However, if you have a non-useful rune or glyph that hasn't yet been added to your gear, you can move it to a different piece equipment by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.

You can take out a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item on which the glyph is installed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be retrieved using the glyph shards.

When you take away an item after adding a glyph the shards that are part of the glyph will vanish. You can also place an inscription to your equipment to make it more valuable. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer instead of all at once. This is beneficial for those who take many hits from their enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens let players alter the affixes on their equipment and weapons, and can be found in various ways such as in mistery boxes or as rare drops from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with an unspecified affix, which is typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items do not appear in the menu of item upgrades [just click the next webpage], but they are still able to be upgraded. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its own level, so higher-level items are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits to upgrade units. Rerolls will roll a % chance to determine a weapon's trait. The developers do not plan to introduce paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. They are planning to add the ability for players to change their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are many ways to boost the value of an upgrade to an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade which boosts the value of upgrading a given stat. The second option is to increase the effect of the upgrade items, which increases damage or healing for a stat. Additionally you have the option to upgrade the base item to a more powerful upgrade type. The upgraded item will keep its iLevel, but have the upgraded effects of the upgraded item.
