Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a common and important way to improve the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can be a good source of damage, more AD or even more attaches.

Rare-grade equipment is often superior to the more modernized Common or Magic gear due to their higher requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a type of upgrade that can be used on weapons and armor items. They improve the stats of the item that they're attached to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Additionally, they can be rescued from items with upgrade components within them by using an expert or greater salvage kit.

The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can absorb. The absorption of damage by an armor piece will increase when it's upgraded to the highest upgrade level. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, which means it must be more heavy.

There are many different kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. Jewels can be replaced by another jewel without damaging the original. However it is only possible to replace the jewels in an item upgrading of equipment only once.
