WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrader mod by 3. A random additional substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item upgrading has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item upgrade will cost you 105.

Upgrades are items which can be used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists.
