Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stat linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain a level gauge for each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases according to their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through a number of means such as using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. In addition, many items can be reforged to boost their stats even more.

You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available in all over the world and are rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. Most weapons can be improved by adding a prefix, such as a rune or an insignia. Other weapons can be enhanced by adding a suffix. These upgrades alter the name of the item and add an adjective, like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor. The only exceptions are the non-inscribable weapons, such as shields and foci from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any kinds of mods at all.

Glyphs

Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by specific amount. This is displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This isn't the actual amount by which glyphs can improve the stat, but rather the maximum value by which it can do so. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier and quality of the product you are enchanting.

Most upgrade components inserted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the gear in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. However, if you have a rune or glyph that hasn't yet been applied to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece of equipment by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can remove a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will destroy the item level upgrade in which it is installed however, you can salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its fragments, therefore it should not be considered a loss.

The addition of a glyph to an item can cause it to become unstable and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory when you dismantle the Best item upgrader. You can also add an inscription to your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and then be dealt slowly to the wearer instead of all at one time. This can be helpful for those who take a lot of damage from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens allow players to alter the affixes they use on their equipment and weapons, and they can be obtained through a variety of methods like mistery boxes, as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token gives the player a brand new random affix, which is typically superior to the original. Reroll tokens are also a great option to reroll stats on weapons, which can be upgraded for better damage or perks.

Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the upgrade menu, however, they still qualify to receive upgrades. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to recycle. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its gauge of level. Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It would be fairer to allow players to pay for it with cash or food items that would allow players to make adjustments to their builds without having to invest too much time. The developers aren't planning to introduce paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. Instead, they plan to add a race change potion in the near future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to level up an item upgrade. The first way to level up an item upgrade is by increasing the upgrade amount. This boosts the value of an upgrade for the stat. The second option is to boost the impact of the upgrade, which can increase the healing or damage for the stat. Finally, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. The upgraded item will keep its iLevel but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.
