Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, also referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment increases the stats linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling items increases depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to increase the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved in a variety of ways such as using upgrade components or increasing the rarity or mark level.
