The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba J7+, IRobot's most advanced robot to date is the Roomba J7+. The most significant innovation is its camera-based obstacle detection system. This uses AI to identify objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's the first robot cleaner commercial to send you pictures of the objects that it encounters, meaning you can tell that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt with ease and leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. It can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't clean in areas you don’t want. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off by speaking to it.

The design is also superior to the competition. It features a sleek, high-end piece that resembles a toy rather than a loud and obnoxious robot. And the Clean Base automatic vacuum cleaners Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying which is great to speed up cleaning.

In our tests the j7+ performed quick to remove dust dirt, pet hair and other particles. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one spot instead of scattering it around the floor. It was able capture small gravel, sand and even a little grit. Most robots can't accomplish this feat. And all of this without getting caught in our pet's hair shed.

The j7+, although not as sophisticated as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it can't clean the stairs, it's an excellent choice for those who need both mopping and a vacuum. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.

While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that use robotic cleaners. It can take a long time to download updates, and often it's difficult to know whether the update actually functioning until you've seen it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your best option is probably one that is a hybrid. These machines are equipped with a water tank so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. These bots also have a variety of extra features such as smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. They are expensive at full retail but often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock makes several of our top robotic vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. fail to impress. It's the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. While it may not come with some of the luxurious features (like no-go areas and multi-story memories) however, it's a great choice if you are willing to make some compromises to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles such as table legs and walls and walls, which makes it a good option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a problem where cheaper robot vacuums be a bit sloppy. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is superb as well, with only a few missing in corners and along walls.

The Q5+, just like other Roborock products can be controlled via a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. The app allows you to start and stop cleanings. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas and modify your home map or re-label rooms.

If you choose the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto vacuum-emptying dock that's designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, however, once it's in place, emptying the bin can be done easily. It also has an impressive LCD display that is great to have when setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This isn't a necessary feature for most people, but it's one that can help you keep track of the intervals between maintenance for your robot with ease.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively clever in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is among the best in the industry, but it's expensive.

Its base station looks good and is easily hidden when not in use, and its size is quite compact. The station's main selling point is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions, and chores that other robots would leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. Many other robots require this.

Its vacuuming performance is quite impressive, too. It's the only robovac that I've tested that does well at picking up debris from bare floors. And it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

But the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren’t as reliable as other robotvacs. This means it is prone to getting stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's also not able to climb stairs like other competitors and doesn't come with a docking station to create a clean zone for carpets that are soft.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent option for those looking for an automated vacuum that can do it all.

However, if you're looking to save some cash, or just don't care about the limitations of this robot there are many other great choices available which include a variety of eufy models for considerably less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers an identical experience on the app with more features, including stair climbing, a full-function dock, and better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy, a Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike a good balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning on hard floors and mopping functions as well as carpets at an affordable price point. It's simple to set up, simply connect one of the side brush and turn it on, then connect the charging dock. The app guides you through a few steps to connect to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be located near an outlet and have enough space to move.

The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be precise, which means it can be placed under couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design is less ostentatious compared to some rival models. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 however is less expensive and much easier to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and is less prone to suffocating bulky materials like cereal.
