The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept in removing dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.

It's still a good deal for those whose office or home has a lot of bare floors and you want to save some money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you're at work or in school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective in mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has an auto-emptying dock, however. If you need to, the mopping pad can be replaced with an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it simple to clean and efficient in tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has a self-emptying dustbin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums, a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek, circular design that looks like a regular Roomba rather than the compact models this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive looking models in our reviews. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot vacuums with mop in our tests that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work, or at night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable, but it will cost you more and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features to help you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner, similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and refills the water tank, as well as washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its competitors with premium features. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self-emptying base that is washable.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping, which gathers information on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, set up the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app comes with a variety of features, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It features a powerful 8000 Pascal suction as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana.
